Preschool Promise offers free, high-quality preschool for 3 and 4-year-old children from income-eligible families, in a variety of classroom settings throughout Marion and Polk counties.

All Preschool Promise Programs are licensed and adhere to quality standards:
Each programs delivers at least 900 instructional hours, complies with state licensing requirements, serves nutritious meals, hosts parent-teacher conferences, and administers child assessments and developmental screenings.
Eligibility
Children must be 3 or 4 on or before September 1 (Salem-Keizer School District's date is September 10) to be eligible for Preschool Promise. Families with income up to 200% of the Federal poverty level are eligible for free preschool.
