The Active Parenting: First Five Years parenting education curriculum is perfect for new parents
and early childhood staff training. A revision of our popular 1,2,3,4 Parents! course, it addresses
basic parenting skills for ages birth to 5, including effective, non-violent discipline for young
children.

First Five Years contains discussion of brain development and an all-new session to help parents
prepare their children for entering school. In addition to the topics listed at left, it covers
temperament, mindfulness, special needs, and self-calming.

First Five Years is a program designed for a class of 1, 3, or 4 sessions lasting 2 hours each. The unit on school readiness can stand alone as a single presentation. Each session is filled with discussions, activities, and video to keep participants engaged and coming
back.
