AP4 contains the essential Active Parenting model: encouragement, communication, and nonviolent discipline. With this edition, we’ve added content for today’s parents, including bullying, school success, and drug prevention. There is new optional information for parents of special needs children. A comprehensive parenting program helping parents of kids ages 5 to 12 raise responsible, cooperative children who are able to resist negative peer pressure and thrive
The AP4 program is designed for a class of 3, 4, or 6 sessions lasting 2 hours each. Some leaders offer the class in two parts (three sessions each) to appeal to parents who are afraid to commit to a full six sessions. The unit on parent involvement can even stand alone as a 1-night presentation. We’ve also provided an optional 30-minute addition to each session called “AP and You” that helps parents apply their new skills at work and at home.
