Educational philosophy or approach: My educational philosophy is the fundamental conviction that each preschool child is like an active apprentice/trainee, that is, they explore and interact in their natural environmental with all people that surround them which serves as the fundamental base to their own knowledge. All children are unique beings that grow and develop at their own rhythm. The active interaction and dynamic of the child in an educational setting is the essential base to learn what occurs from each child's particular talents and interests as a human being. The educational environment should be safe, healthy, varied, motivating, challenging and fun where play is promoted and learning is active. The integral aspects of a child's development (physical, social-emotional, linguistic, creative and cognitive) are interrelated and each aspect influences the other. It is important to have an individualized plan so that each child can thrive in their development. In our program, we foster the ability of the child to resolve conflicts and make decisions in a socially complex and changing world. We offer equal and equitable opportunities to develop and learn regardless of physical, mental, emotional and social limitations. The appropriate curriculum for preschool should be comprehensive, emerging and transformative which encourages the active and constant participation of the children, their families and the community.
